I love Christmas time. I love the lights, the trees, the decorations. I love the treats, the music, Santa and his elves. I love the nativities, the Christ child, the miracles of the season. I know that not everyone loves this time of year. I know that for some it is one of the hardest times of the year. I know there is stress and craziness. I have experienced it all - the sadness, the worry, the stress, the craziness, the loss of a loved one. But, I love this time of year.
Maybe it is the spirit of that Christ child who is touching so many all at the same time. Maye it is the beauty that can make people want to be kinder and help others. Whatever it is, there are incredible miracles and tender mercies for all who seek.
We have an Arnold Friburg print in our living room titled "Following the Star". It stays up all year long. It serves as a simple reminder that if I follow the Star, I might feel of the love and tender mercies of the Lord. It reminds me that this life is a journey. People come and go, lives change, circumstances change. But as we each follow the Star, we will feel of a love a Christ who lived and died for me. For that, I am grateful.
Merry Christmas!
