Throwing the mac around

I have always know I have beautiful babies - not bragging, just fact. They have grown into beautiful kids - not bragging, just fact. I mean, how can you argue with me - even if I am a little biased!!

But lately, it seems that others are noticing.
Jacob has had a few neighbor girls fall for him this summer. One little girl told him she loved him. Now, she is a beautiful girl, and I don't hate that at all.
He came home from the park a few days ago and told me this little story.
He ran into some neighbors who were out playing. One of the girls told him how cute he was and that his butt was shaped like a heart. And then brought him a popsicle. I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't even know how to respond. He just blushed and laughed right along with me.
I tell you what, back in my day, I would never have used that pick up line!
But I gotta tell ya, it just may have worked on this kid!!

Such a slacker!

Man, I have been such a blog slacker! I never think about how long it has been between posts. We just get so busy with life - getting ready for school to end, baseball season, yard work, regular work. I know everyone has it - but I'm not busy with your life :)

We've had a 4th grade program with Jacob and his classmates singing about Utah history. Really cute job. We had our 6th grade Monster Ochestra concert - with nazi conductors - but the kids did really well - Robyn plays the violin and Spencer plays the cello. And we have only gone through 4 strings this year!

Then we had the 6th grade musical - Dig it. All about the different civilizations they have learned about - Mesopotamia, Greece, China- I'm not sure what else.
Jacob's best friend who lived next door, had to move with his family, and as you can see from this pix, it was a very emotional night! So sad, even Cindy and I started crying. He then proceeded to milk it for all it was worth - I'm too sad to do my jobs, I'm too sad to sleep - I need to watch tv, I'm too sad to go to church. It then just became pathetic.
Hopefully, a really great family will move in so that he can have a new best friend.

And now, we patiently await Friday - the last day of school - 6th grade graduation, early dismissal and then party time. I am just looking forward to sleeping in and goofing around, at least for the first few days.
Ah, Summer, summer, summer time...

I'm done with this family!

I don't know about any of your families, but our family is full of 5 very passionate, very strong willed personalities. And lately, there has been an awful lot of clashing - especially when it comes to the children! I know, surprise, surprise. Lately it seems that they begin fighting with one anther the moment they wake up - I mean, literally - eyes pop open and the screaming and yelling commences! It gets especially testy in here when mom and dad are a little testy. I know, surprise, surprise.
Anyway, last Sunday as we were getting ready for church (which I'm pretty sure is supposed to be a peaceful and calming experience on our souls, but somehow we are missing it), Kent, who I swear has to be early, and me, who I swear has to be right on time or late...hence the testiness, were trying to get everyone ready to leave with as minimal amount of stress as possible. Jacob and Spencer began their usual rowdiness, this time fighting over the bathroom sink and the toothpaste - we are talking fisticuffs here. When all of a sudden there was a very loud squall "I'm am done with this family! So done!" and the pounding began.
Here is the trouble with things like this, neither Kent nor I could stop ourselves from laughing to really figure out if it was the whole family or just Spencer. It took us off guard. But it apparently made Jacob feel better just to scream it out.
The moral of the story - just let it out! When we get to our limit, just shout - I'm am so done with ...!you fill in the blank. I'll let you know how it works for me next time - you might even hear me shout it out!

Women of Strength

I know I am really behind on the blogging lately. Just know that our Christmas was really great! Thanks to everyone who sent us gifts, cards, loves, and prayers. We loved every one of them!

I guess I have had a rough day - stress, challenges, frustrations - so while I was checking out my friends blogs, I saw this video. It was such a great reminder to me of all my sisters and friends. How lucky I have always been to have their support and strength. They have always helped me on my rough days, have made me laugh so hard I almost wet my pants, sing Mama Mia so loud and even get up and dance! Thanks to all of the strong women in my life. Thanks for loving me no matter how nasty I am when in need of a little sugar (or applebee's apple crisp - ha ha). I love you all!

So, take a look and yeah, I did cry (big shock, I know).
